📱 Calculators Section — Instructions for Developer
We need a Calculators section in the app with four tools for NICU use. I will provide any database/files needed (PDFs, CSVs, and a Python script for PMA). The app should be simple, clean, and fast — each calculator should have a small entry form, a clear Calculate button, and a plain, easy-to-read result screen that the clinician can save or export.
1) Nutritional Audit Calculator (Neonates)
Purpose: show whether a baby’s current feeds + supplements meet recommended calories, protein and micronutrients.
What the user will enter:
- Baby weight (kg)
- Total feed volume per day (mL/day) or volume per feed and feeds/day
- Type(s) of feed / supplements used (select from list I will provide — EBM, HMF, MMF, MCT oil, NeoPF, CalciMax, Orofer, etc.)
- Number of sachets / mL of each supplement used per day (if any)
What the app should do and show:
- Use the database I’ll provide to calculate total daily calories, protein, fat, carbohydrate, calcium, phosphorus, iron, vitamin D etc.
- Show a simple table: Nutrient — Provided — Recommended range — Status (OK / Low / High).
- Display a short recommendation line (example: “Calories adequate; Protein low — consider X g additional protein”).
- Allow save, export CSV, and print of the audit.
- Keep layout mobile-friendly and easy to read (big numbers).
I will supply: the nutrient composition database (CSV) and example audit sheet.
2) Dextrose / GIR (Glucose Infusion Rate) Calculator
Purpose: quickly compute GIR and mixing volumes for IV dextrose preparations.
What the user will enter:
